THE MALL
This series of photography explores the mall that I frequented from the age of five, in various stages of transition. The Safeway and the Zellers, once the anchors of the Fort Richmond Mall, are no longer there. As I saw the mall slowly decay and anticipated it’s eventual end, I was inspired to capture the last few years of what was once a neighbourhood meeting place and landmark. Emptiness, both metaphorically and physically, is evident in these somewhat sentimental photos of this desolate and abandoned post-retail environment.
